The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney is one of the oldest public gardens in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Botanic Garden, an oasis of 30 hectares with 8,900 plant species and over 4,000 trees in the heart of the city.
Established in 1816, it is the oldest scientific institution in the country and is home to an outstanding collection of plants from Australia and overseas.
From the provocative rare and threatened plants of the world to the romantic rose garden, the themed garden areas show the diverse beauty of nature.
The Gardens contains an outstanding collection of native and exotic plants and is a leading centre for botanical and horticultural research.
The Calyx exhibition centre, has the largest living green wall in the southern hemisphere and will feature different exhibits about every nine months.
The gardens are just gorgeous and always well maintained.
The contrast of high rise buildings and tranquil gardens is incredible and add to that the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House and you won’t know which way to look first.
To celebrate its 200th birthday, the renowned Royal Botanic Garden Sydney exploded with many types of illumination during Vivid festival from May 27th to June 18th 2016.
